I’ve been using the following phrase to describe this idea for years: “give it to god.” I’ve seen all kinds of people do this and it always ends in an argument.

Ive found that this is the best way to describe it, because you will always feel like you really deserve something, and that something will come to you when you need it. So if you dont want anything from God, you just make sure you get it. And if you dont want to give it to god, then you should never have wanted it in the first place.
