For example, the internet can cause us to become too dependent on technology.
I mean, just look at all the technology that’s been created to help us track our whereabouts. In the old days, you had to visit a police station or a fire-station to find out if you needed a ride. Now technology has made it so you can find your whereabouts online. The problem is that it can also do the exact same thing to us—by monitoring our habits and habits of others.
In particular, what’s making us more and more dependent on technology is the “noise” – the “low-level” signals and movements that we all have inside our minds. That’s the very thing that makes us think differently about ourselves, and we can easily be drawn into thinking and behaving in ways we never would have otherwise.
